The Kertos Discovery is your tool of choice to uncover every data relevant to your compliance efforts - from IT infrastructure to users. Specifically, you can automatically identify:
Vendors
Data Sources (the tools that vendors provide you with)
Data Classes (categories of data that data sources feed into)
Processing Activities
Users
Assets
Discovery channels
From the discovery page, you can access multiple channels through which you can discover your organization’s data.
Not every channel is able to uncover all categories of data.
Currently available:
Website Scan
Single-Sign-On (SSO) Scan (Microsoft, Google, Okta)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Scan
After you have run a certain type of discovery, the counts for the respective data types at the top of the page will go up if the discovery was successful and found something new. Clicking on a count will redirect you to the “discovered” tab of the data type it belongs to.
Running a Discovery
1. Locate the desired channel on the page.
2. Click on “Run”.
3. Follow the next steps according to the selected channel.
