Zendesk Support

This section will guide you through the integration of Zendesk into Kertos. This will setup Zendesk to delete data for data subject requests. If you are looking for the integration to automatically create tickets in Kertos, please refer to Zendesk Support (Webhook)

The Integration Interface

To set up the Zendesk integration, the following credentials are required. This information can be found in your Zendesk account as displayed below.

Authentication

The following section guides you through the process of gathering all required credentials to connect to your Zendesk instance.

API Token

To set a token for the Kertos integration, log in to your Zendesk account and go to settings.

caution

Please refer to your admin for permission to generate a new token!

In the Settings continue to the Zendesk Admin Center.

Once you are there navigate to Apps & Integrations > Zendesk API.

Activate the Token Access and generate a new token.

Choose a descriptive name and copy the token, then save the new token.

Head over to the Kertos Integration Form and enter the new token to connect to Kertos.

Email Address

This is the mail address of your Zendesk user account.

Subdomain

The subdomain of your Zendesk instance. When logging into Zendesk you can see the subdomain as the first part of the URL in your browser. For example yourcompanysupport.zendesk.com will have the subdomain yourcompanysupport.

Identifier Field

Choose between the options "Additional identifier", "Email" or "Phone Number", depending on which data you what to use as an identifier.

Data Retention

Some data have precise specifications as to how long they must be retained. The "Data retention" field allows you to define how long data should be retained after receiving a deletion request, to make sure all deletion requests are in compliance with the various data regulations.
